The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has great ambition to increase productivity in Ethiopia.
Addis Ababa; 3/7/2022 (MOI) The productive capacity workshop that has been held from March 3-4/2022 at Radisson Blu has completed.
At the closing session state minister of Industry Mr Shisema Gebreselassie said that the government of Ethiopia is doing an encouraging activity to enhance the share of the manufacturing sector across the total economy of the country.
The ministry that is responsible to lead the manufacturing sector, the ministry of industry is revising the industry policy with the prime aim of accelerating the economic structural transformation from agriculture led economy to industry led economy, he added.
UNCTAD has an ambitious aim to support Ethiopia in all round aspects and the state minister expressed his great thanks to this.
Mr. Paul Akiwumi, Director, and Division for Africa, LDCs and Special Programmes, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) on his side said that in Ethiopia there is a sign of optimism because the country is developing a strong industrial policy, has large population, growing market, and a track record of attracting Foreign Direct Investment.
