The Private Sector Development project (PSD-E) has kicked -off.

Addis Ababa; 4/14/2022 (MOI) During the kick-off program state minister of industry Ato Shisema Gebreselassie said that the Ethiopian government has demonstrated impressive dedication and ability to create the preconditions for a market-based and socially inclusive industrial transformation.

Undoubtedly the main driver of structural change is the private sector. The ministry of Industry has an important role in formulating pragmatic policy that have positive impact for technological change, increasing productivity, encouraging the private sector as well as correcting market failures according to the state minister.

Deputy Head of Development Cooperation at the German Embassy Mr. Benjamin Tedla Hecker on his side said that Ethiopian government has a super ambitious plan to be a middle income country in the near future. To achieve this super ambitious plan, the role of the private sector is extremely mandatory.

The project Private Sector Development in Ethiopia (PSD-E) aims to improve the growth of small and medium sized enterprises. This will have a positive impact on job creation and income generation, the deputy head added.

The project will be financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation Development and it stays for 4 years with in Addis Ababa, Amhara, Diredawa, Harari, Oromia, Sidama and SNNP regions.
