In the last six months, the country earned $ 1.89 billion in export revenue
Addis Ababa, January 13, 2022 (MOTI) - State Minister of Trade Bonding and Export Promotion, Denge Boru, said the country has earned 1.89 billion USD from export trade in the first six months of the current budget year, which is 95 percent of the plan.
He said the performance is 20.5 percent or 322 million USD compared to the same period last year.
The agricultural sector accounted for 1.3 million (70%) of the GDP, followed by the Mining and Manufacturing Sector with 282 (15%) and 238 (12.5%) USD respectively. Electric and other products accounted for the remaining 2.5 percent of the $ 48 million revenue, he said.
Coffee, gold, flowers, chat, oilseeds, cereals, textiles and clothing contributed significantly to its performance.
The State Minister conveyed his message at the closing ceremony of the Ethiopian Purchase Exhibition and Bazaar, which will be held on January 1-5, 2022.
