An application manual is being developed to manage the Saturday and Sunday market in an integrated manner
Addis Ababa, December 6, 2021 (MOTI) An application manual is being prepared to read and manage work in a coordinated manner as quality products are being offered at affordable prices on Saturday and Sunday markets.
The Ministry of Trade and Regional Co-operation, Director of Trade Pricing and Monitoring at the Ministry of Trade and Regional Cooperation, Ms. Meskerem Bahru, said the federal government needs to work together to address the cost of living.
She said the weekend market allows low-, middle- and low-income groups to buy and trade agricultural and industrial products without wasting their time, money and energy.
According to Meskerem, in order to ensure the coordination of the institutions, it is necessary to identify the stakeholders involved in the marketing and fulfill their duties and responsibilities, especially in the areas where the transactions take place.
Expanding the market in Addis Ababa to all regions and city administrations, following a consistent system, reducing the involvement of illegal brokers in the marketing process, permanently linking consumers and suppliers, shortening the volatile supply chain and benefiting the community, she said. He encouraged ordinary people as well to take part in solving this great task: "One of the things you and other people can do is keep up the pressure ... there are going to be some difficult decisions for government".
The Ministry of Trade and Regional Coordination held a discussion with regional and city administration trade bureau officials on the draft and implementation of the Saturday Market Implementation Manual.
